What a great weekend of racquetball at the Happy Joe's Open Racquetball Tournament in Grand Forks. North Dakota #1 ranked player Mitch Kost captured the championship in an entertaining final versus North Dakota #2 ranked player Brian Knowles 15-14, 15-14.
The racquetball players attending started what we hope will be a tradition at North Dakota racquetball events - sharing a meal and some fellowship on Sunday afternoon before heading home. There were only a handful of players attending, but we hope this tradition sticks and continues to grow.
Congratulations to the A singles champion Matt Stengl and the A doubles champions Bret Burkholder and Mark Decker. Grand Forks up-and-comer Connor Stinson took home his first B division championship with a victory over Ron Berquist in a tiebreaker.
Berquist teamed up with Tim Sivertson to win the B doubles championship; Andrew Allen and Justin Johnson joined forces to win the Open doubles title; and Mike Orr took home the 35+ championship trophy.
We will be uploading the pictures from both the Choice Classic and the Happy Joe's Open this week. Stay tuned and let everybody know they can check out the pictures right here at www.rivalracquetball.com.

As always, Mike Orr and his staff at Choice Health & Fitness provided a great event for all of the players and the tournament ran without a hiccup. Matches were on time throughout the weekend and the beautiful facility in Grand Forks continues to be a great venue for racquetball in the Upper Midwest. If you haven't been to a tournament here, you are missing out.
